Disciples’ Diner Ministry
If you have not participated in the Disciples’ Diner Ministry in the past, we invite you to consider if this might be a ministry in which you would like to serve. Disciples’ Diner serves a meal at 5:30 pm on most Wednesdays throughout the school year. We are pleased that many of the Diner team will be continuing next season which begins on September 7 but some additional helpers will be needed. People are needed on one Wednesday a month for clean-up (6:00-6:45 pm), dishwashing (6:00-6:45 pm), providing a casserole, or offering the blessing. A new opportunity this year is soup preparation for the soup/sandwich night. One or more individuals are needed to make 4-5 gallons of soup once or twice during the season. Serving as a substitute helper to be called as needed is also an option and individuals are always welcome to add their name to the list.
If you would like to volunteer or need further information, please contact Sandy Shave at 715-592-4346 or

MORE WAYS TO WELCOME NEW PEOPLE
Recognize hospitality as a ministry:
Teach that hospitality is at the core of the Gospel
Honor Christ in everyone and know that God seeks to be in relationship with ALL people
Make a good first impression:
Convey a clear invitation and a statement of welcome in all communications directed at the external community – advertisements, banners, fliers, website, Facebook, etc.
Know that 40% of visitors make up their mind about a church before they even see the pastor, according to Barna Research. Within two minutes of the beginning of a service visitors have formed an opinion about whether the congregation is friendly.
Prayer Quilt Ministry
The Prayer Quilters are meeting this summer when there is a request for a prayer quilt.
This group of women are committed to making lap-size quilts for anyone in need who might be comforted by the knowledge that there is a faith community holding him or her in prayer.
If you know of someone going through illness, loss and grief, fear and depression, consider a quilt, made with many prayers of compassion for healing and speak with one of the quilters, or ministry staff. (The contact person is Lois Kitto, 344-9864.)
