Outreach - Community ConnectionsCreating an Atmosphere that is Welcoming and Inviting
The Outreach Ministry of The United Methodist Church is responsible for numerous activities for the church. Our primary function is to create an atmosphere that is welcoming and inviting for all people in our community. Outreach Ministry helps all church groups understand that everything we do is an opportunity to be welcoming and inviting.
To accomplish this we:
- Maintain the Welcome Center
- Educate the congregation on how to be welcoming to guests
- Maintain the name tags
- Greet visitors and help them learn of ongoing activities
- Host events to invite the community to our church
- Encourage United Methodists involvement in community events
Outreach Ministry usually meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:15 p.m. and some occasional day time meetings in the library. Anyone who enjoys meeting people, or who would like to volunteer a few hours a month, are welcome to join us.
Community Connections is a ministry that seeks to enhance the United Methodist Church visibility in the community through our faithful witness and relationship building. Knowing that ministry has no boundaries, our focus is community wide and currently, we seek to be part of existing events in the Plover/Point areas.
We have participated in the following community events:
- Celebrate Plover
- UWSP Vendor Fair
- Stevens Point Holiday Parade
- Stevens Point 4th of July Parade
Anyone who is interested in connecting with our community in planning and helping with future events, please join us. Contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
